After School Arts Program

We offer Monday – Friday after-school care including dance classes, art, activities and games to keep your children engaged and having a blast. Our program is the perfect way to fit in fun after-school extracurricular activities without interfering with parent's work schedules.

Time: 2:30-5:30 (with pick up from school if needed)

We will also have weekly art projects, games, learning-based play, outdoor time, and more!

You will have the choice to allow your child to perform in our Christmas show and/or June show.

What supplies are needed?

  • Clean indoor runners.

  • After school care snacks. Snacks must be nut-free, dry, and non-perishable. No pop, candy, or junk foods. Snacks must be in a bag labeled with your child's name on it.

  • Water bottle labeled with name.

  • Art smock or adult's t-shirt labeled with name. This must be okay to get dirty in art class. 

  • Change of clothing labeled with name.

  • Leotard & shorts or leggings (boys- t-shirt and shorts or pants) 

  • Dance shoes suited for style (ex. ballet shoes for ballet class). If your child does not have shoes Coastal Arts Academy can order them for you.

  • A booster seat. Must be for your child's correct height and weight and not expired. It is parent's responsibility to double check booster seat requirements.

Handbook

  • Coastal Arts Academy is a nut-free facility.

  • Parents are responsible for providing snacks. Snacks can be sent in your child's lunch every day or can be kept at the studio. 

  • Children must be in clothes/activewear they can move in. If they do not want to wear their dance clothes to school they can bring a change of clothes or leave one at the studio.

  • Please make sure your child wears weather appropriate clothing and has a jacket/rain gear if necessary as we will be doing activities outdoors even through the fall and winter months.

  • In the event that your child will be absent from After School Care, you must text or call BEFORE 1:30pm so that we can inform the staff and/or drivers. If your child will be absent from After School Care and we are NOT notified before 1:30pm, parents will be charged a Late Fee of $10.00.

  • Children must be picked up no later than 5:30 pm, unless the child is enrolled in another class at the studio. In the event that you are running late to pick up your child, please call or text Coastal Arts Academy. Any student without arranged late pickup permission will be subject to a Late Fee of $5.00/every 5 minutes over time. This will go up to $10.00/every 5 minutes after 30 minutes.

  • We will not release your child to someone other than those authorized on the registration paperwork (please communicate via text or in person should this change). Please make sure those picking up your child have ID for the first month as we learn about everyone’s family members.

  • We follow the SD71 calendar for any closures (ex. snow days, lockdowns, natural disasters).

  • There will be no refunds for holiday closures/Pro-D Days/snow days or any natural disasters out of our control.

  • In case of withdrawal from the program, one month's notice is mandatory.

May 25th – Deposit and paperwork due (if not already registered in the program).

July 1st – September tuition due in full.

August 27th – 11am meet and greet and booster drop off day. This will take place at the studio (2790 Cliffe Ave, Courtenay).

September 6th – First day of school *No After School Arts. 

September 7th – 2pm – 5pm Intro to After School Arts program. No transportation.

September 8th – 2pm – 5pm Intro to After School Arts program. No transportation.

September 11th – First day of classes WITH transportation.

October 1st – October payment DUE.

October 2nd – Closed for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

October 9th – Closed for Thanksgiving.

October 20th – Pro D Day. Pro D Day Camp option available with no transportation. 

November 1st – November payment DUE.

November 11th – After School Arts Program closed for Remembrance Day. Dance classes will still run. 

 November 25th – Our Winter Show, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, will take place at the Sid Williams Theatre.

December 1st – December payment DUE.

December 23rd - January 5th – Closed for Winter Break.

January 1st – January payment DUE.

January 8th – First day back from Winter Break.

February 1st – February payment DUE.

February 16th – Pro D Day. Pro D Day Camp option available no transportation. 

 February 19th – Closed for Family Day.

March 1st – March payment DUE.

March 18th - 29th – Closed for Spring Break.

March 29th – Closed for Good Friday. 

April 1st – April payment DUE.

April 1st – Closed for Easter Monday. 

April 2nd –- First day back from Spring Break

May 1st – May payment DUE.

May 20th – Closed for Victoria Day.

June 1st – June payment DUE.

June 22 or 29th TBA show @ Sid Williams.

June 26th – Last day.

 

Fees 

  • Please note: Childcare fees are due on the first day of the month, even if the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday and must be submitted BEFORE 4:00 pm on the due date.

  • Full-time pricing (4-5 days a week) is $400/month. Transportation is not included in this price. 

  • Part-time pricing (1-3 days a week) is $300/month. Transportation is not included in this price. 

  • Transportation is $100/ month 

  • Pro- D Day Camps run from 8:30am - 4:30pm and are $40/day. Late parents will be charged according to the handbook.

  • Spring Break and Summer Camps prices TBA.

  • Costume fees are $60 per performance class. Children will not be allowed to take home their costume unless costume fee is paid.

  • Payment is due on the 1st of each month. Options are E-transfer to coastalartsacademy@gmail.com (password: ASP2023) or cheque made out to Eclat Youth Dance Company. 

  • Payments received after the due date will be subject to a penalty fee of $25.00 per month. Accounts that are 15 days overdue will result in a written warning notice, should it not be settled by the written due date your child’s care will stop until paid in full.

  • Returned cheques will be subject to a $50.00 service fee.

  • No reduction in tuition for missed classes or holiday closures.

  • No subsidy.

  • Please note that a deposit of 50% of September's tuition (no transportation included) is due to complete registration as well as the extended registration form (please see below link). If not received by May 25th your spot will be let go and given to the next waitlisted person. Please understand that transportation priority will be given to full-time students. Please note a deposit is non-refundable. 

  • The remainder of September's tuition will be due by July 1st with transportation to allow for time to fill any vacant spots in the program. Please note all payments are non-refundable.
